Sheffield Winter Gardens

If you are a Sheffielder, by birth or naturalisation no doubt you will be proud of where you come from. The 4th biggest city in the country yet the greenest. A home to great innovators, poets, artists, entertainers, musicians, politicians and Sportsmen/women. An amazing place, with amazing people.Where from the heart of the city you are only a 20 minute drive to the peace and tranquillity of the Peak district. (61% of the entire area of Sheffield is green space and a third of it is situated in the Peak District National Park). Our city is located within the valleys of the River Don and its four tributaries, the Rivelin, the Loxley, the Sheaf (From which the city took its name), and the Porter Brook. “Sheffield is built on 7 hills like Rome” – to paraphrase the great George Orwell. Within the city there are more than 200 parks, Gardens and woodlands. Plus an estimation 2.5 million trees, the highest ratio of trees to people in any European city. This combination of urban, suburban and rural areas makes Sheffield unique and unrecognisable from its industrial heyday.
